On October 7, OpenAI announced flashcards and quizzes for ChatGPT for Teens and plans a College Planner for college applications. The planned tool would gather requirements, deadlines, tasks and financial-aid steps for schools on a student’s list into one timeline. Its first version is designed for U.S. high-school students in grades 10–12 applying to four-year colleges.
A student would be able to return to the plan, update progress and see what remains for each school. OpenAI says the planner is meant to organize application work, not decide where a student should apply; the company describes counselors, advisers and families as part of that decision process.
The announced flashcards are designed to turn uploaded notes or a topic into a deck teens can review later; OpenAI also says quizzes can be generated from class notes. The company gave no separate rollout schedule for these new study tools. On iOS, multi-photo capture can combine several pages of notes into one PDF for upload; OpenAI says Android support is in development.
College Planner is still forthcoming: OpenAI gave no launch date. Its current help page says ChatGPT for Teens is available to eligible teen accounts on free and paid personal plans.
