Anthropic starts a 12-week program for engineers deploying Claude at work

Anthropic has launched a 12-week residency in which nominated engineers lead a Claude deployment at their own organization. The company says it will commit $100 million and aims to train 10,000 engineers for the role by the end of 2027.

Before the residency, participants complete a four-day, in-person intensive. For three days they build a Claude system for a simulated enterprise, taking it from a customer request through security review to handover. On the fourth day, they are graded on a new scenario. Engineers who pass move on to the residency.

During the 12 weeks, each resident leads a real Claude use case at their own organization, with support from Anthropic engineers and peers in a cohort. The program is by nomination through enterprise customers and partners. Anthropic says its first cohorts are already running in San Francisco, New York and London.

The company expects to award its first final credentials in early 2027. Its announcement gives no initial cohort size or deployment results, so the $100 million commitment and 10,000-person goal describe planned scale, not outcomes already achieved.
